Instant Online Permits

For renewing an existing Boiler 'Permit To Operate' or to add a new Boiler PTO.  A 'C4' license class is required.  To view all Boiler PTO activity use Boiler PTO Inquiry which is also found in the Permit Services tab under 'Track permits and complaints' on the DBI menu.

To have access to these online services you will need to complete the Contractor's Agreement & Terms of Service form--see following link. On receipt of this form, SFGov Online Services will issue you a Username and Password so that you can begin printing permits.

With this site licensed and registered contractors may:
  • Obtain certified permits immediately.
  • Use the only system that integrates directly with the Department of Building Inspection.
  • Print official permits to post at the worksite.
  • Save time and avoid the hassle of standing in line.
  • Pay a minimal convenience fee per permit.

    FEES: In addition to all fees posted in the current DBI Fee Schedules, please be aware that other/additional fees may apply, and that all fees are subject to change. Legislative action, at the state and/or local levels, may demand that newly-mandated fees remain the customer’s responsibility from the time of the fee’s effective date. Such fees may be billed to the customer at a later date to ensure legally required collection and payment.
