Welcome to our Permit / Complaint Tracking System!

Search by Applicant or Authorized Agent

When searching by applicant or authorized agent, you have the following search options:
  • You must enter a either a company name, person's name, and/or license number.
    • Using a license number in your search may help to separate ambiguous agent names.  For example, if there are both a plumber and an architect in San Francisco named Harold Yang, the license number can help discern the difference.
    • You can use wildcards with names and license numbers to broaden search criteria (e.g., Jones* or 7662*).  See wildcards on this page.
    • Search results will contain records matching the exact phrase passed (not any words or all words).  For example, a search for "Joh* Company" would return "John Adams Company" and "Johnes Company" if found, but would not return "Mark Jones" or "Hill Company". Logical operators such as "and" and "or" are not supported.
    • Searches are not case sensitive.  So "Smith" and "smith" return the same results.
  • You may optionally limit your search to one type of permit role (e.g. Architect, General Contractor, etc.) by selecting a role from the dropdown list.
  • The permit application date range indicates the time period of permits that will be searched for matching agents.  Only those agents having participated in permits during that time period will be displayed. The default date range covers the past 2 years.

Wildcards:

You can use the "*" character in a name or license number search to represent any set of one or more unknown letters, numbers, spaces, or other characters. The "*" may not be the leading character, and MUST be preceeded by 2 or more characters when conducting name searches, or 3 or more characters when conducting license number searches.

Examples:
