 ITEMDESCRIPTION
1THIS NOTICE INCLUDES VIOLATIONS FOR THE AREAS NOTED.This Notice includes violations of the San Francisco Housing Code. Unless noted otherwise, all violations were observed on the date of inspection at 4081 Mission Street.
2REPAIR WINDOW SASH FRAME and WEATHER STRIPPING 1001d, h, 708 SFHCThe aluminum windows in this unit rattle and allow a breeze of air in through the gap between panel frames. The felt weatherstripping is missing in a number of locations. Repair or replace the weather stripping in all windows of this unit.
3INSPECTOR'S COMMENTSThe resident stated at this first inspection that her furnace does not distribute the heat efficiently. She states that the two rear bed rooms get too hot while the front of the house remains cold. This could not be confirmed at inspection, however, the owner should consider HVAC service to clean/clear the ducts and service the furnace. The Housing Code states:

PROVIDE HEAT TO EACH OCCUPIED HABITABLE ROOM FOR 13 HOURS BETWEEN 5:00 A.M. AND 11:00 A.M. AND BETWEEN 3:00 P.M. AND 10:00 P.M. THE INSTALLED HEATING UNIT SHOULD BE CAPABLE OF MAINTAINING A MINIMUM ROOM TEMPERATURE OF 68 DEGREES F. 701c, 1001b6, d SFHC

On a cooler day this will be the inspector's expectation.

If the property owner cannot attend the scheduled re-inspection (as specified on this Notice) it is his/her responsibility to secure a different inspection date and time with the Inspector, and provide all tenants with notification as required by California Civil Code Section 1954 (San Francisco Housing Code Section 303(b), if any dwellings, apartment units or guest rooms are to be accessed during the re-inspection.
