CODE VIOLATION DESC : A complaint has been filed with this department regarding the installation of a metal structure (lighted signage) on top of roof area. The site was visited on 7/28/23 to verify conditions of structure related to life safety concerns. Access was denied upon arrival by tenant (property management representative present). A second attempt was made on 7/29/23 after discussion with property management to gain access to roof area. However, upon arrival access was denied again by tenant. Code/Section: SFBC 103A, 102A, 104A.2.3, 102A.3 Monthly monitoring fee applies. Code/Section: SFBC 110A Table 1A-K

CORRECTIVE ACTION:

STOP ALL WORK SFBC 104.2.4

FILE BUILDING PERMIT WITHIN 2 DAYS

(WITH PLANS) A copy of this notice must accompany the permit application

OBTAIN PERMIT WITHIN 3 DAYS AND COMPLETE ALL WORK WITHIN 7 DAYS, INCLUDING FINAL INSPECTION SIGNOFF.

FAILURE COMMENT DESCRIPTION : Provide access within 24 hrs. of issuing of this notice to verify conditions of metal structure (lighted signage). Failure to comply with this notice will cause abatement proceedings to begin. Obtain a building permit with plans to legalize the installation of this metal structure. Plans will require to have anchoring details to existing roof and city planning approval. Or obtain a building permit to deconstruct metal structure and remove from roof. Any changes to roof must be noted on the plans. Permit application must state to comply with NOV and 9x penalty fee paid. A separate electrical permit may be required.
