Gave the owner the contact information and asked her to reaach out and resolve the heat issue. She agreed. Gave the owner DBI contact info and informed the owner that the installation of new heaters required permits. The owner did not want to provide permits and asked for an exemption. The complainant was wary about Byington because they apparently installed heaters before and they were not code compliant. Informed the complainant of the need for permits. 04/07/23HEATGradyTELEPHONE CALLSInspector Grady called and spoke with the owner's son, he is taking responsibility for the building. Discussed the resolution to the NOV. Byington Electric was the Electrical company that installed the heater. Inspector Grady received a call from Tim at Byington. This was a like for like baseboard heater installation, there was no new wiring. Tim confirmed that generally DBI-EID does not require a permit for like for like swap outs. The electrician stated this will be a difficult building to heat because it is an old Victorian, no insulation, 12 foot ceilings and single pane windows. Christopher Grady 07-APR-23HIS

The replacement heaters were not functioning properly due to the old wiring. A new electrician was hired to fix the original installation and re-wiring was necessary.
