• Words/Pharses Searching
  • Searching them together as one word or phrase. 
  • Example: reroofing flat roof
  • You can use wildcards with words/phrases to broaden search criteria (e.g. reroof*).  See wildcards on this page.
  • Search results will contain records matching the exact word/phrase passed (not any words or all words).  For example, a search for "reroofing flat roof" would return "reroofing flat roof" if found, but would not return "flat" or "roof".
  • Searches are not case sensitive.  So "REROOFING" and "reroofing" return the same results.
• Boolean Operators
  • Use of "and" or "or" between seperate words/phrases to search for multiple keywords. "And" requires that both words/phrases be found in the description. "Or" requires that one word/phrase, but not nessarily both, be found.
  • Example: reroofing or flat roof
  • Use "not" to exclude words/phrases.
  • Example: deck not wall
  • Using parentheses to group words/phrases together while using Boolean operators.
  • Example: (reroofing or flat roof) and (deck not wall)
• The permit application date range indicates the time period of permits that will be searched for matching keywords.  Only those keywords pertain to permits applied during that time period will be displayed. The default date range covers the past 2 years.

Wildcards:

You can use the "*" character in a keyword search to represent any set of one or more unknown letters, numbers, spaces, or other characters. The "*" may not be the leading character, and MUST be preceeded by 3 or more characters when conducting keyword searches.

Examples:
